West Coast Acro Workshop

Micah & Moonbeam

Oct 4, 2026

East Coast coaches Micah & Moonbeam of Progressive Partner Acrobatics are heading west to San Francisco this fall! In collaboration with Silicon Valley Acro, they’re bringing a dynamic, comprehensive workshop featuring some of their favorite material and training methodologies to the west coast.

What We’ll Cover:

  • Spotting Techniques: Safety spotting, assistive spotting

  • L-Basing Skills: Cool tricks, F2H/H2H sequencing, and gamified drills designed to bridge the gap into standing skills “Low is for pro, high is for show” ;)

  • Expanded Acrobatics: 2-High entrances/exits, plus 2-base to 1-flyer support systems

  • Standing Acro & Mini Dynamics: Standing F2H tricks/dismounts, standing H2H progressions (intro through entrances/exits), and standing lifts paired with mini dynamics for work on moving together + experiencing some fast twitch movements

Open Coaching Segment

Get tailored feedback on your personal goals! We’ve reserved dedicated time for Open Coaching to troubleshoot and elevate specific skills you and your partner are working on.

Prerequisites & Target Skill Level

This workshop is multi-level, but primarily geared toward refining established L-basing foundations (especially around F2H and H2H) and building or sharpening your standing practice across F2H, H2H, and standing lifts.

Recommended experience with L-base H2H, standing 2 high, standing F2H, and high bird.

Our guest instructors

Christine Moonbeam (she/her) is passionate about movement! She is a seasoned dance, acrobatics, and handstand coach with 2 decades (nearing 3) of experience as a coach, curriculum writer, and event producer. She’s the founder, director, and coach of Progressive Partner Acrobatics, coach at LEAP (Little European Acro Programme), co-founder of ATC (Acro Training Camp) & Colorado Acro Fest, and coached at Pitch Catch Circus for 10 years.

Christine’s passion for circus ignited while working with underserved youth in Washington, D.C. through a Social Circus Program called Zip Zap Circus. It was here that her love for circus and partner acrobatics took flight.

She has since immersed herself in partner acrobatics, hand balancing, and strength training. She’s dedicated to sharing her knowledge and community building, both in the US and internationally. Her coaching pedagogy shines through the idea of prioritizing process over achievement when it comes to training and learning skills.

Christine believes in the transformative power of acrobatics, seeing it as a tool for personal growth & empowerment, community connection, and mental well-being. Christine is passionate about fostering an inclusive space at her trainings. She wants to be part of the change in the world of circus and acrobatics by building up a diverse community of movers.

When she’s not upside down she is gardening, hiking, practicing herbalism, and engaging in climate and social justice work.

Micah (he/him) has been in the world of partner acrobatics since 2008, starting with an intensive circus program for 9 months at New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) in Vermont. He went on to perform with Princess Cruise Lines from 2011–2013.  In 2016 Micah graduated from the prestigious École Nationale de Cirque in Montreal.

Since then he has performed internationally with several companies, including Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Éloize, and Circus Monti. Starting in 2020, he has shifted focus to coaching full time.

Micah is a head coach and curriculum writer at Progressive Partner Acrobatics. He also coaches LEAP in Prague, is a co-founder of ATC, and founded his own acro business: Micah Ellinger Acrobatic Coaching.

When he’s not tossing someone in the air or teaching someone to do the same, he enjoys group singing, planting trees, and learning how to grow food.
